Yes you should definitely become friends first. Anytime you are trying for a second round of a relationship, you should take things very slow!! It is a natural process that will work on its on, there is NO NEED to rush!!

    There’s a reason why he/she is your ex. Maybe you’re not what he/she is looking for. From what I’ve seen, it is rare for a couple to get back together. If you two are meant to be, he/she will come back to you. Don’t waste your time pursuing something that may never happen again. Give yourself time and space from him/her and focus on yourself. Limit your contact with him/her. By doing this, you’re letting him/her know that you’re getting on with your life and you don’t have time to waste on something that may not happen. It will take time, but it is possible to maintain a friendship with someone you use to love.
